Assure all quality measure attainment effort is supported by the greatest understanding of the end product, quality clinical care. Presently accredited by NAHQ. Goal for 2016 is pursuit of Joint Commission (JC) accreditation. Data collection and analytics will be an area of increasing focus in the near-term future.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Lead a staff of two (2) data analytics professional and a chronic disease specialist.
  • Must appreciate and embrace a “family environment.”
  • Experience in the ambulatory care environment is a plus, however, any clinical care delivery quality experience will be considered
  • Must bring experience leading the analyses of a clinical function.
  • Superior skills in research, analysis and reporting must be in evidence.
  • Good educator: able to assess, plan and deliver/arrange for training to build competency in front-line staff .
  • Well-developed approach to project creation, implementation and management will enable the Quality Manager to administer the annual Quality Improvement Plan.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Resource person on all infection prevention initiatives for system: hospital, physicians & clinics especially as relates to the next 4 year renovation and new construction project of clinical and patient care areas.

• Develop and implement facility-wide infection prevention and control program.
• Sets standards & evaluates compliance for practices of prevention/control of health care associated infections ( HIA) including surveillance, analysis, reporting and recording of activities
• Go to person & educator for physicians, nurses & staff on infection prevention & epidemiologic issues especially as relates to challenges resulting from renovation and new construction.
• Performs required infection control surveillance at all system locations and complete required reporting to governing agencies.
• Participate in epidemiologic research, as determined by VP, and collaborate with Infection Control community on process improvement initiatives e.g. antibiotic stewardship and sepsis management.
• Prepare and deliver reports regarding infection control issues to Department heads, Leadership, and other appropriate members of the VVMC community e.g. Infection Control Committee.
• Partner with clinical colleagues to ensure compliance with CDC, CMS and Joint Commission standards and adherence to evidence-based practice.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • 2+ years of healthcare with new construction infection prevention experience
    • Must have CIC certification or obtain within 1 year of employment
